my 2nd ship that made it to endgame, actually killed the first clone myfirst this time. as you can see, i placed by command module perfectly in the middle this time, as expected, resulting in a tremendous boost in maneuverability. and with only 4 bubble shield this time, it's strong enough to protect me when caught off guard, but also weak enough for me to rip right through it against the clone. im actually very happy with this design, despite it lacks some firepower, having only 7 lasers.
right now im trying to either get a endgame ship with prismatic or sniper modules but everytime i get up to clone, it's almost instant death, weird. maybe i need to be more careful and/or farm for bubbles/repairs before facing them.
i am NOT going to use the "suicidal clone" method, cuz it doesnt seem that im achieving anything.
if u want to play it, it's here (if u own captain successor)
u can buy it on the site, here!

1/05/2011 - teh epic venn-diagram
finally made it through the first clone wave. from my previous blog "a kilo ship as much shields as i did, but all kilo-rank", i went to the wikia of it and found out it's the clone ship system in the game. smart system to keep endgame fresh. it basically clones ur current ship, upgrade it all to kilo-rank and throw it against u. and it's possible to have 3 pitched against you at once. BUT that is exactly how i got thru the first wave, i made them kill each other =D. not the most heroic act, but it's a breakthrough. the first clone spawns after u kill the first juliet-rank. then after that is just random.
anyway this is the ship i ended up with after around 20 clones, only 20 because i put too many shields on it, even with all kilo-blasters at the front, on full throttle still takes about 20secs to penetrate and kill. to make things worse, the AI spins around and all, so i lose my line of fire.
although this was a great ship, i was basically invulnerable, even against my own clone (cuz of their stupid AI), there was a very serious flaw in it, the Eris is nooo where near the centre of mass. because the game was coded to spin the ship around the Eris module, this realy hindered the turning ability of the whole thing. other than that, i think this is a pretty good setup. it started off as a "serif I", i talked about this last blog.
but this is not the end, even though i did get to the endgame, it doesnt mean im not going back to the game. i probably will talk less about it tho.
going to sleep now.
EDIT[2:41GMT+10; 1/05/02011]: for those who wants to pilot this ship for fun: click here.

30/04/2011*2 - bubble shields?
another run at captain successor with a TON of bubble shields. came to it with this setup b4 getting pounded by kilo-wave again. by a kilo ship as much shields as i did, but all kilo-rank, lol.
bubble shield build was fun tho, mostly i can just rush in and smash their command in without taking any dmg at all. starter kinda taking som dmg around india-wave. and as soon as juliet or kilo, even the echo shield was 1hko'd.
was a fun build, at the end of the day, i think it's a good idea to atleast try to keep all the shields u find, they might be 1hko'd but they still absorb the bullet, so potentially, u can block a kilo-rank bullet with just an alpha shield.
i also tried captain imposter just b4, i didnt like it that much, it was interesting, but i'd just play successor, mainly probably because most of the ships in the AI database arent that good to pilot anyway. but even if the $18.75AUD/$20USD was to only buy successor, i still wouldnt conplain.

30/04/2011 - captain successor
i got captain successor, it is, foresaw, better than captain successor. it is also more chellenging. the AI in the game is, i think, identical, but the difficulty comes from the increased rarity of module, because there are way more module types, chance of the type u want goes down respectfully. luckily the game actually seem very balanced.
seen above, this is wat i got to on my first (successful) run, too bad as soon as i got those juliet standard cannons, i was literally ambushed by 3 kilo warships. literally, with kil snipers on them, offscreen kill. it was right after sniper killing a juliet warship.
i recommend this game to any1 who dont mind a goalless sandbox game, space shooter, and frustration. it's HIGHLY possible that ull get killed on the first wave of kilos (rainbow colour). but we will prevail, and when we do, we'll say "this was a triumph" =D.
but then again i did only get this game today roughly 6hrs ago, died 6times until i got this considerable result. i learnt to reroll the starter gear from the info bouy so u get a easy(ier) start, but that also changes the "culture" of the ships at the start, meh. just never start with sprint boosters, i dont like them.
anyway, before i bought successor, i did play forever for quite abit and a got this instead
as u can see it's a fully foxtrot ship (save the 4 delta boosters) i think it's arguable that successor is harder.
my usual strategy -
i kinda discovered the "serif I" formation of modules, it gives good mobility and enough front cannons. i think it's a good setup, but i might need to reboot my interpretation after buying successor. the serif I was good because in forever, all the boosters r only 1 sided, if u read the formula how the game calculates turning speed (torque) the outwards arms gives good distance of the centre axel, thus good turning power, and with the same thruster/booster, u get forward/backwards thrust/break as well.
i tried a "pirate ship" type ship before, it's a "H" instead of a "serif I", it kinda works but the control can get slightly troublesome. but it gives realy good strafing power, even without Q/E control.
p.s. i know my ships arent the most glorious. there's WAY better ones on the web.

| captain forever, as u can see, it's overall higher rank than my captain successor attempt. |

29/04/2011 - out of cyro stasis after nine nine nine nine nin...............
hey guys, long time no see!
iv decided to start blogging again, and im not going to randomly stop cuz of school this time, but this time it would be slightly different. it's not going to be walls and walls of text. it's going to be shorter for each blog but i am sure to hav atleast 1 blog per week. im planning to include som images as well as to wat i was doing, or maybe a few vids.
again im going to repeat myself, this blog is VERY gamer orientated, with a slight dose of anime.
now the blog:
i hav been very busy with school (cough). but im going to free up more time, despite i AM in yr12 and i AM supposed to devote the whole of the yr to education, but screw that =D.
anyway, i spent my gaming time very much on portal 2 this past week, played it 3 times in 7 days, ppl who's saying it doesnt hav replayability, no cake for u. to keep this spoiler free, im only going to say this: i dont think it deserves a 10/10, but it deserves more than 9.9/10. it's a wonderful game, (no i duno actuly believe it deserves higher than 9.9, around 9.5 id say) the chellenge in this game was way better than the first game, not cuz there was more elements to it, but it just more thoroughlu thought out, but i AM angry they dumbed down some of them from the consolers. well that's their probably they cant "ninja skill" on a controller, umad? the following image is probably a spoiler but i made this (not finished) probably for use as banner in the steam forum.
other than portal2 rampage, i found this game called CAPT forever, it's a very addictive space pilot game, it's the free version tho, the full version, CAPT successor, looks even better. im considering paying the $20USD for subscription. i say u guys should try it out. it's kinda slow to gets ur grip on, but it's realy fun when ur tune into the game. this is the best iv ever gotten, u cant save after loading, so it's just a momento i kept.
i know this is slightly contradicting with wat i said on the top of the post, but this is because it's like summing up the last month(s). anyway ill keep u guys updated more often. signing out

07/02/2011 - school! yay
school has started again, meaning my blogs will probably be shorter on games and longer on life. maybe, just maybe. or i think maybe the entirety of the blog will shorten by abit cuz there's less to talk about, school isnt really that interesting.
